Universal Studios Singapore

The Universal Studios in Singapore is a theme park located within the Resorts World Sentosa. This was our second day (Aug 28, 2016) on our tour hosted by Dreamtrips. The temperature at that time is like summer in the Philippines, 39°c, and we were glad we were on our most comfortable outfit-cotton shirt, shorts and sandals. A bottle of water was provided by our host from which we saved 3 SGD each.

We had a less than an hour travel from Holiday Inn Atrium at Outram road to Resorts World and this is the view approaching Sentosa. Sorry for the thumb.

Inside the resorts world are lots of dining options and shops of good brands. I was again a kid with these stores.

This picture was taken near the gate of Universal Studios. I think it’s best to see the fountain at night. Notice that cute and multicolored merlion.

This globe is where almost everybody gets their picture taken whenever they visit the USS. It is just outside the gate of universal studios so you can take your picture here without getting inside and save 50 to 60 SGD entrance fee if you don’t really plan on exploring.

I mentioned on my last blog entry that our ticket was provided by Dreamtrips so we skipped the line. Hurray for perks!

We first got a map before starting exploring. The Universal studios is a 20 hectare theme park divided into 7 zones: Hollywood, New York, Sci- fi, Ancient  Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar.

From the entrance gate, we walked clockwise and took pictures on each zone .

Hollywood Zone

We had our snack at Mels Drive Inn..

New York Zone

Sci-Fi City Zone

Ancient Egypt

The Lost World

We had our lunch here where they are serving original Singaporean food. Legit Hainanese chicken tastes good.

The highlight of our Universal Studios Singapore tour is watching the Waterworld Show. The stunts on water and overhead plus the special effects is spectacular. I have not taken pictures or videos because the shows had my full attention that I had to hold my breath at some point. Yep, it was that good.

Far Far Away

Madagascar Zone

This is a picture from the Hollywood zone.

Souvenir shop

Even if we did not try any rides, and have only seen one show at the Waterworld, we enjoyed our one day tour in Universal Studios Singapore. We enjoyed walking around taking lots of pictures, and visiting every souvenir shops available with one or no item purchased.

I’ll definitely go back to Universal Studios with my family. My children will surely love the unlimited rides when we book in my own booking engine Dreamtrips. I am really satisfied of the service and perks this travel club is giving us. They provided us 20SGD allowance for our snack and lunch, a bottle of water plus hotel transfer and a pre booked ticket to the Universal Studios. This tour is included in our 4 days 3 nights stay at Holiday Inn Atrium, with free meals , and one and a half day tour including this one. I only paid Php 10,000. It’s worth joining a world class travel club Dreamtrips.
